President of Lalenok United Mr. Pedro Belo & President of FFTL Mr. Francisco Jerónimo
This Saturday morning, at Xanana Sport Center, the Football Federation of Timor-Leste (FFTL) awards the AFC Club license certificate for the 2020 season to Lalenok United FC. The certificate is guaranteeing the participation of Lalenok United FC in AFC CUP 2021 and AFF Club Championship.
The president of Lalenok United FC is honored and grateful for the certificate awarded and at the same time thanked FFTL for the effort and hard work in obtaining the license certificate to participate again in the AFC CUP 2021. “Although 2020 was a very difficult year, due to COVI-19, however we always strive to work, make the effort to complete all documents required by AFC, and supposedly with the support of the FFTL we can finally achieve the certificate . So I would like to thank the President of the FFTL and the entire structure for the support provided to Lalenok United FC so far “, said the President of the Club.
Mr. Pedro Belo points this out; Last year, although Lalenok United did not qualify for the play-of phase for so many reasons, however we gained new experience playing in the AFC Cup for the first time, our players got great experience and motivation. I believe this time, we can overcome this and move on to the next phase. And I hope that next year other clubs will be able to apply as well and together we promote our football to the world.
AFC CLUB Licence Certificate
On occasion of delivering the certificate, the President of the FFTL congratulated Lalenok United FC for successfully obtaining the license “It is a great time to demonstrate the advancement of football in Timor-Leste, I believe that with the participation of Lalenok Unted FC in the AFC CUP for the second time, it will be able to motivate other clubs to compete and move forward to have the opportunity in the coming seasons” Said President of FFTL.
For the second that Lalenok United obtained the AFC Club license, the first was in 2019 when the club was the first club in Timor-Leste to play at the AFC CUP 2020, and in this 2021 session, it is the club licensed to represent Timor – Leste again in the regional competition including the AFF Club Championship.
