Lalenok United FC is a professional football club in Timor-Leste, that competes in 1st division, the top tier of Liga Futebol Timor-Leste (LFTL). The club was founded in 2016 with its home based in Baucau city, one of the municipalities in the eastern part of the country. The club also has another based in Marconi, Dili the capital of Timor-Leste, complete with its own soccer field.
Based at the Marconi, the club competed as Lalenok United FC from the start of the 3rd division of LFA 2017 season and was promoted to the second division. In 2018, the club came second at 2nd division competition and automatically promoted to the 1st division of LFA. In 2019, Lalenok United FC won its first top-level of Liga Futebol Amadora championship. In the same year, the club also won two other trophies, each from the 12 November Cup and Super Cup competitions. It is the only club in Timor-Leste to have won three trophies in the same year.
Lalenok United FC has also made a history as the first club to represent Timor-Leste in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) qualification in 2020 against one of the biggest club from Indonesia, PSM Makassar. Despite losing to PSM Makassar, Lalenok United FC was given another opportunity to play in the qualification of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) together with other clubs from other countries in South East Asia. This Playoff should happened in the second quarter of 2020, however, most likely that it would be postponed due the covid-19 pandemic that affects most of the countries including Timor-Leste.
